April 6 Youth Movement
Our generation has the right to try .. Either we succeed .. Or offer an experience to benefit other generations
Youth April 6
Youth who love Egypt
We are a group of Egyptian youth brought together for the love of Egypt and the desire for reform .. Although the vast majority of us do not belong to any political trend or linked to politics , however, we are determined to complete the road, we believe we can continue from where others stopped.. We are convinced of our ability and our right to change this sad reality .. We have agreed on the patriotism and sacrifice for it and the desire to reform this nation, we started on, April 6 2007 this historic day in the lives of Egyptians and Egyptian political movements, as we have with some parties and political forces called for a general strike that day to protest against the deteriorating living conditions, and we had to call for the strike by all means, including the popular Facebook site, and there was a great response to the strike, where most students did not go to schools and universities that day, and most employees from different govermental sectors did not go to work, and the streets were almost empty all over the country, but the largest response to the strike was in the town of Mahalla , where Mahalla inhabitants stood against the blind stick of security ,as people took place in the mass protests ,faced the security and their tear gas and bullets, injuring dozens and killing three people and arresting hundreds of Mahalla people, despite the heated situation in the danger area Youth April 6 did not miss sharing Mahalla people their crisis and witnessing the arrogance of the security, and the violence against the people of Mahalla protesters and they also witnessed the destruction of Mahalla by thugs hired by the Security to complete the series of burning and destruction of the town of Mahalla , the castle of Egyptian industry.
Young people went out on April 6 heading towards downtown in Cairo to protest and actually a large number of April 6 youth went out to the streets that day, where some of them got arrested , and some of them continued detention for more than a month, and some were released on the same day.
Despite all that Youth April 6 refuses to surrender or retreat, they decided to complete the journey towards changing the current situation and reform the result of more than a quarter century of corruption and emergencies.
We Youth April 6 movement believe that the change and reforming of Egypt will not happen by claims or petitions,we will achieve it by providing real alternatives and real solutions to find a real alternative for political, economic and social Renaissance in Egypt that provides stability and security of the Egyptian citizen.
And we Youth April 6 movement believe that this will happen only by the move of young people – as they are the real one who will benefit from the change when it happens, as they exceed 60 % of the Egyptian population..
Our youth are the future leaders, and our energy today.
And the cooperation of all political forces to unite and work together to bring about change for the reform of Egypt and get rid of the corruption ,destruction and waste of wealth for more than a quarter of a century.
In the end, we do not call for a new group .. Or a new party, but we call on all Egyptians (individuals – communities – parties – (dedicated in all sectors) to meet at one project: the awakening of the people to stop the unjust oppression of the corruptive gang and the elimination of corruption and despotism.
(Trying to be the conscience of our precious Egypt)

On April 6, 2009 …
Demand Your right
In any form you like
Declare now 6 April 2009 a general protest in Egypt
to demand our rights…
At the end of 2007 emerged a call for a general strike in Mahalla spinning factory if their demands were not met.. And many of the activists caught the call and thought of the development of a general strike for the people of Egypt, and many of the political forces agreed on the idea of a general strike for the people of Egypt.
And the success of the strike call on April 6, 2008 and the unexpected response that occurred is due to many factors and the most prominent and most important reason is the situation of extreme tension, among all people all because of massive price rises in the prices and the stability of salaries and excessive involves in taking random decisions .. In addition to the presence of young people who responded to the call and the strike began in the development and dissemination of all modern methods and one of the most important of which was the site of the famous Facebook site.
And the causes of tension still exist and has been on the rise and significant and, of course, will not go away in the succession of these governments that follow the same rules of the same party and who do not wish for any real reform and insist on sedatives to keep the status as it is.
If we consider that April 6, 2008 is the first step in an inclusive event, that gathered tens of thousands of youth members who do not belong to any political trends, and also different people from different categories responded to the strike, the major and important step in the long journey of change and an important step in the project of the awakening of the people and positive return for Egyptian youth.
And if we know the fact that the strike, was not an end in itself, but the means to promote a culture of peaceful protest and to encourage people to claim for their legitimate rights.
If we put all this in consideration then next April 6 is the next second step and it is also complementary to the backlogs that have occurred since the beginning of 2005, we can consider it the second step in the major re-awakening of the Egyptian youth and collecting them on one demand, and the second step in the reconstruction project and the positive spirit of belonging in our youth.
Therefore we must accumulate and build on what happened in the previous strike and develop the concept and update it.
Although many political analysts expect the protests to stop after April 6, 2008 strike as result of the violence in Mahalla caused by the Ministry of the Interior.
But the practical reality is otherwise,.. Protests and strikes continuing and increasing .. And also there is a sudden transformation of many of the social demands of many of the categories to political demands in the first place as an enhancement of the rule that does not separate the political demands from the social and economic demands.
And we have called for a new strike on April 6, 2009 and claimed many of the associations and many of them responded to the call to strike, such as the trade union organizations, which suffer from the government or the imposition of arbitrary detention, in addition to the students who organized a student strike to achieve the demands that they asked for on last February 21 to improve methods and conditions of university education and lowering the prices of academic books and expenses and exit Guard university in accordance with an order to cancel and eliminate the current students’ regulations which destroyed the Egyptian education system .. There are also many other groups and communities and political forces that announced participating in the day April 6, through a multi-protest to express their anger at the situation.
And on April 6 there is a great opportunity for a new day for uniting people and therefore we call on all political parties and trade unions and political forces and all social groups and all communities suffering from problems due to the domination and the tyranny of the ruling party to announce that April 6 is the day of the Declaration of public anger by all peaceful means as a step through to the organization of a strike to achieve the peaceful change …
And we on the point that the Ministry of the Interior’s role that day is to do its role to protect the real property and facilities, and not attacking the people, who are practising their legitimate rights by peaceful protests since the start of repression and violence only begets violent reaction.. And the pressure leads only to explosion..
And let every category choose the means of protest that suits it, and it fits in the beginning with the strike and sit-ins and protest stances … And ending with the invocation of the symbolic statements and demands.
As for us .. Of course we will not repent our love for our country … And, of course, we will not repent our dream of changing it by every means of peaceful resistance.
Let us on April 6, 2009 is a day of anger for all the political forces and trade unions and groups and individuals.
Let’s make April 6, 2009 a new day of the Union of all the categories on the idea of claiming legitimate rights.
Let’s make April 6, 2009 the beginning of the real coalition of all national political forces.
Let our motto on next April 6 be … it is our right and we will take it…

About April 6 Movement …
We are a group of Egyptian youth brought together only by the love of our country and our desire to reform our country, Egypt.
We met on Facebook during the call for the strike on April 6, where we called for it by all means.. And many of us decided to complete the road by forming a youth movement, independent of any direction or political trend, and we called it, April 6 Youth Movement.
The vast majority of us do not belong to any political trends, while some had some previous experiences .. What brought us together is only the love to our country ,Egypt and the firm desire and determination to rescue the country from the poor conditions that the country has reached in all fields as a result of the tyrannical rule of the National Party for more than 27 years.
We have decided to reserve our independence from any political faction in Egypt, and continue with our different experience from those who preceded us with all our respect and appreciation to them.
We welcomed the co-operation with all political factions, without exclusion or any prior sensitivity to any political trend, because we believe that we can overcome this critical moment in the history of Egypt only with the coalition and co-operation between all factions and national forces to reach the reform and the peaceful change of the conditions of Egypt. Dreaming of the day when all forces, trends, and ideas co-operate and unite to save Egypt from this dangerous situation .. And we agreed on the vision, and objectives, and the plan, and the rules between us, and there are those who welcomed the idea and supported it and we thank them very much and there are those who rejected it, and we assure them our highest consideration.
There is no difference between our goals and what has been suggested by any allegiant national forces in previous years ,to allow freedom of forming parties by notification only ,and stop the state of emergency and exceptional laws restricting freedoms, and forming a new constitution without any ideologies that should be agreed upon by all political forces .. And a transitional period for applying the principles of true democracy and the establishment of social justice.
The philosophy of the movement:
- Egypt is now going through difficult circumstances, that may be the worst in the history in all fields .. Now it’s difficult and even impossible to talk about any attempts to reform, especially with the rejection of the ruling regime, to any views or attempts to amend or correct the situation.
-Our Aim is to change the bad situation in Egypt through a youthful conglomeration or a large youth organization (without specifying the age of the members of the group, but the basis is from the youth) with creative renewed ideas, and by seeking awareness, and spreading ideas and moving the political events in Egypt and the creation of innovative activities to support the reform, and by constant pressure to achieve our objective.
- The type of change adopted by the group: non-violent change
- The key components of the group: youth .. males and females .. Independents and ideologists .. regardless of the different intellectual affiliations of members who are seeking the same target.
Policies of the movement…
1 -The ideas of the group: the group should move its tasks to serve the overall objective which is to achieve the basic change.. In various ways and in all ways, and facilitating mutually to reach this goal.
2 -The basis of the movement: Modulation.. supported by reforming roles that serve in the same part of the goal of the change.
3 – The decision of the group : the group follows the democratic system in its decisions.. The decision is taken from the majority of its members. Upon agreement of all the members to a decision, they are committed to the agreement of this decision… And the right to vote in public meetings to the coordinators of the geographical groups.
4 – Group Finance : Self-funded.
5- Relationship with other forces: a relationship of co-operation and co-ordination and accepting opposing and different ideas.. ,and seeking to build a large-documented coordination between these forces and make them unite in order to face the existing system.
6- Qualities which must be met in the group members:
Clarity of purpose
Seriousness
Selflessness
The ability to sacrifice
Accept opposing viewpoints
Dedication to the dream of change
Loyalty to the group
Patience
Belief in success no matter how long or difficult it takes.
7- People.. To touch and feel their problems and work on training them on how to take their rights … And create a climate that if not solidarity, then at least sympathizing by any means, along with the group’s ideas and the concept of change in general.
8- Form of the group: the group takes the form of the organized decentralization.. Each regional group has its different activities depending on the circumstances of each group and the potential of its members, because each group knows its points of strengths and weaknesses .. With a general framework and a general unified plan.. And the task of the Coordinating Committee is not to impose decisions, but to follow-up and evaluate and to frame any proposals.
In addition to the intellectual, and material, and human assistance.
Movement strategies:
1- Strategies to move: the activities of the group are based on two main factors.. Cumulative and impressive work, such as working on the awareness of people and protests, short-term reforming activities.. And calling to public events to promote the culture of peaceful protests and the constant pressure until reaching the major change.
- Cumulative Work : through the activities of the group agreed upon by the members, and that would help in spreading the ideology …. Or to deliver a particular idea that would hit in the end to the major target.
- The congregation and call for a major meaningful event that serves the targeted goal of the change: these events are agreed upon by the members of the group internally, and between the group as a whole, and between the forces who are sincerely willing for the change, and would work on the success of the event.
2 – Brainstorming groups: These are groups that should bring new and innovative ideas in the framework of the non-violent change.
3 – Development of the goal: We must distinguish between the main goals and the sub-goals..The main objective is the basis of the group’s work, and this can not be modified, and it’s concerned with the group’s philosophy of work and the method of change … As for the sub-goals, they are handled according to the pace and order of their importance in terms of timing and priorities and the objective conditions, and on the conditions of each region and location according to their means and circumstances.
4 – In case of any occuring mistakes, the follow-up and evaluating committee is responsible, and should handle the mistake and analyze the reasons to ensure that no repetition of this mistake would happen again.
5 – In case of any urgent or unplanned events ,the General Coordinator of the group has to form a group to manage this event and organize it and this necessitates an emergency group ready for such events.
6 – In case of the arrest of a member of the group: The emergency committee has to develop a 4-axis movement moving in four directions in the following order:
-1 Legal support.. Delegating authority to a lawyer to follow-up the case the detainee and provide the detainee with advice and all the legal work and coordinate with the legal support centers
-2 Ration.. And all that is needed for the detainee from the tools of life . Ration . Medical . and books for the students.. And this is coordinated with the lawyer of the case and ensure the continuation of it.
-3 Media pressure .. publishing and propagating the detainee’s case at the media and the press and explaining the reasons for the arrest with concealing regulatory matters that may not be mentioned.
-4 Protest Pressure .. by organizing protests and stances, as means of pressure on the opponent to force him to speed up the process to release the detainee.

The Project presented during the months of April,May and June…
The Project briefly consists of two main campaigns:
1 – A public campaign to fight corruption in Egypt:
And this will be through a series of regular media, and public campaigns to force the ruling party in the fight against rampant corruption in all the government institutions, and abide by the treaties signed by Egypt and by the need to combat corruption and the need for transparency.
The project is divided into two parts:
The Media Part: and this is the part that’s concerned with public awareness, through Facebook and blogs, and websites and newspapers, and the Internet and mobile phone messages, and this is to encourage people to control and detect irregularities and corruption in public dissemination and spread positivity among people, through continuing pressure campaigns.
The Public Part: and this part is concerned with the campaigns with the public, and filming the corrupt officials who take bribes and exposing them to the public, and to encourage people in the streets to participate in the campaign and encourage people to be positive ,and the need to implement real democracy and the need for the retribution of officials.
2 – The destruction of idols and stop the sanctification of the President:
This campaign aims to carry out active and wide activities, on the Internet and the streets to urge people not to panic and fear of the President, and urge people not to sanctify him.
And the dissemination of the idea of, that the President of the Republic is an official elected in accordance with his agenda and that people have the right to charge him for his mistakes.
And establish the principle, that democracy is the only solution for the problems of Egypt.
This campaign will start before preparing the celebration of the President’s birthday by the ruling party.
People are forced to spread the President’s photos in the streets and people are forced to suspend the signs of hypocrisy, and all the official newspapers are also full of hypocrisy and false congratulating words.
All the youth people will begin to plunge the Internet, and mobile calls and letters to show the true feelings towards the president by raising the flags of Egypt as an expression of our love for our country, and by raising the black banners as an expression of anger from the President who does not represent Egypt, and has been elected by illegal means.
And there will be an invitation to bake a birthday cake, to celebrate Egypt that was destroyed by the President during his long period of presidency.
Celebration of youth will appear in many places. Celebrating Egypt ,and celebrating of breaking the idols of the President on his birthday.
The mobilization and call for the event will be through the Internet and mobile phone messages.
